The Process of DVD and CD Duplication

DVD and CD Duplication generally involve writing information and recording data directly onto a blank optical disc called a CD or DVD. The process is more commonly referred to as "burning", because of the laser component to be able to heat the disc and "burn" marks onto it which will read as data. This is more often utilized when only a low volume of discs are needed or required to be produced. DVD Copy or Burning Software or equipment is usually used for DVD and CD Duplication. This is to ensure that the burning process can be done at high speed and superb quality. Some of this software is often downloadable and can easily be installed in PCs too because they are designed to be compatible with various operating system versions. The equipment on the other hand is often high end to comply with the need for speed and high volume production.

The most important factor in this process is the creation or availability of a "master disc" because this will serve as the basis and the media of extraction for all the information to be copied to the other discs.  The software will then arrange and format the data so it can be easily read by its intended device.  This way the reading media or device can find the information stored in the disc as if it is browsing through a playlist or directory. This is called the "optical disc image."

When this is done, the software proceeds to writing the data or image onto the blank discs. This is where the laser comes into play. The laser or electromagnetic waves burn either to permanently store the data onto a disc and this is classified as read-only discs or just produce an alloy onto the disc so it can still be re-shaped anytime, these are classified as the re-writable discs. Different software and equipment have different capacities. They may either be able to produce just read-only discs or both read-only and re-writable copies. As well, different devices may be required to read these types of media. However, these are not hard to find nowadays and many software packages are available which cater to reading both read-only and re-writable DVDs and CDs.

On the other hand, DVD and CD Duplication equipment is able to burn hundreds of copies simultaneously because they are designed with towers containing DVD and CD trays.

Both processes end with verifying if the copied information is exactly the same as the master disc.

DVD and CD Duplication gives both personal and business benefits to duplicate large volumes of CDs and DVDs whether it be for music and audio or for data. This is one good technological solution in these modern times.
